Finding new meeting space......

We're all set to start "Theosophy" this spring but struggling to find a regular place to meet. The very promising Be-ing Enough shop in Westfield abruptly closed up shop and became (gasp! shudder!) a Weight Watchers regional office. (Can you imagine?) My house, in addition to not having much seating space, is home to two very anti-social German Shepherd Dogs (Alsatians to you Brits). Dan K. has offered his home, which is quite helpful, and I am trying to connecting with various New Age bookshops and supply stores in Indy and surrounding areas to be Plan B. If anyone has any suggestions, by all means throw them this way!

Garden Memories...

We left our garden in Selestat to come to America and we didn't dig it before winter. But our soil is so rich and so full of love. We think that with the covering of hay and plants that weren't harvested, the soil is going to be healthy. We are happy to share these pictures with you from last Spring. We invested in a cheap, cozy and warm greenhouse where our baby plants were so happy. We planted different kinds of cabbage, arugula, beets, leeks, carrots, peppers, and ricin (castor) inside of it. On the exterior, later in the Spring, we planted radishes, salad greens, lettuces. You might notice glass jars on the soil behind Eva in one of the pictures. These are used to keep the plants warm during the night. Especially with the cucumbers and red lettuce. We planted parsley, wild chamomile, valerian, Brussels sprouts, and different kinds of flowers to attract pollinating insects. We have some bumble bees making a home under the fuel tank lid in the yard. It stinks, but the bumble bees seem to like it. Eva likes especially this little jumpy spider on the orange rose in the front yard. More garden photos to come!

This afternoon at Tom's....

We were a group of six this afternoon at Tom's for a wonderful get together. We discussed several possibilities for our next book discussion. Candidate number one was Theosophy by Rudolf Steiner. Now is the time to throw out some other ideas! We also discussed the idea of creating this blog to keep in touch with everyone a little bit easier. If someone has other suggests on how to make this a blog a dynamic one, feel free! We want this to be an easy, open forum where communication is the goal. We encourage everyone to add photos, comments, epiphanies, anything that could enrich our exchanges.

Welcome to The Heartland Anthroposophical Group!

What a great way to keep in touch with each other. We can discuss a million and one topics and keep each other informed on upcoming events and perhaps participate in book discussions (even when we're miles away)
This is already a lot of fun!
